In order to replicate items successfully a full silicone mould making service is a necessity. Our skilled team can work with anything from small pieces of jewellery to larger items, that may not necessarily be made of metal.
With all moulds spruing is included as part of the service and adjustments can be made for any specific requirements.
There are some items that cannot be moulded such as objects that may be too thin or complex shapes.
To carry this out we offer two main types of rubber mould :
Hot Mould – This is the more traditional mould making method, that is usually complete within half a working day. These only apply to metal masters. It is worth bearing in mind that there can be up to 5% shrinkage with items moulded using this method, so it may not be suitable to items with precision stone setting, interconnecting parts etc.
These moulds are made using fixed frames sizes which are limited.
Cold Cure Mould – If the item being moulded requires minimal shrinking then it’s best to consider Cold Curing, as they replicate virtually 1 to 1. They are suitable when working with larger items, as they can be made for almost any size and also useful when replicating non-metal or delicate items, particularly plastic or organic items e.g. acorns, shells etc. These moulds require 24 hours to set.
These moulds are made using customised frames, which can accommodate large items.
Fast Curing Mould – A super fast setting version of our Cold Cure Moulds. The same rules apply as with Cold Cure, but an additional fee will apply for the 2 hour turn around!
Please note that here at Just Castings we DO NOT hold our customers ransom for their moulds. Once paid for, moulds will be your property, regardless of whether or not they are permanently kept here or being used on a job per job basis, and can be returned on request. All patterns will be handled confidentially.
